Top Gear Blasts Tesla In Response To Libel Lawsuit
Following last week’s shock announcement that Tesla is suing BBC’s Top Gear for libel and malicious falsehood stemming from a review of its all-electric Roadster, Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman has released insight on the topic coming from the show’s side.
Due to the ongoing nature of the legal proceedings, Wilman's comments were quite reserved though he was quick to point out that Tesla is going to great lengths to promote its argument, with one of its PR firms even contacting another BBC program, The One Show, to see if it wanted to do an interview with a Tesla spokesman and take its Roadster for a spin.

The review was a bit pathetic by Top Gear ... BUT ... you have to let the critics be critics.
reminds me of the old '' Whistler '' libel suit

"Top Gear Blasts Tesla In Response To Libel Lawsuit"
As well it should!! Tesla is protecting its investors (both government and private) to the tune of billions. It received some glowing praise in that Top Gear video and it should be grateful instead of crying foul. It was not a puff piece and if it wanted that, it should have the Tesla reviewed only in Detroit.
It appears to me that Tesla should be way more worried about Honda's Clarity and not Top Gear's comments. Once more word gets out about fuel cell technology and all of Hollywood jumps on the bandwagon, it's DOA for many aspiring to make a quick buck in the name of green.
Tesla is a great achievement no doubt, but I feel the end is quite possibly near for a car that only just begun to assert itself fully. But Tesla above all should know that technology marches on. Nothing personal. Innovation waits for no one. It should go back to the drawing board and learn from a Honda type. Upgrade, change, or face extinction.

I thought fuel cells were always ETA'd by an equation, not a year:
ETA = current_year + 10.
