Chrysler faces $10,000 hit on every Fiat 500 EV it sells, CEO says
On the sidelines of Fiat S.p.A.’s recent general meeting, Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said that Chrysler Group LLC will lose over $10,000 on every battery-powered Fiat 500 it sells in the U.S., despite the retail price being “three times higher” than a version of the minicar with an internal combustion engine. He said the economics of EVs “simply don't work.” Such heavy financial hit will not dissuade the carmaker from launching the Chrysler-built electric version

VW lost 4million per car with the Veyron. It not its the first time Chrysler lost money.
