Is Saab Already To The Point Of No Return?

Saab, which has suspended car production, has tens of millions of crowns in unpaid bills, the head of a Swedish suppliers organization said.

"I don't know how much it is in total, but we are talking about tens of millions (of crowns)," Svenake Berglie, chief executive of the FKG suppliers' sector association, told Reuters.

Saab's production line in Sweden remained idle for a third day after it failed to pay some suppliers' bills, with the production stop set to continue.

Obviously Antonov was part of the original plan when Spiker wanted to buy Saab from GM in the first place. GM would not allow this. However Mueller was able to fanagle the deal without Antonov. Now that Spyker owns 100% of Saab they realize they need Antanov desperately.Hopefully the Swedish government will ok this.

I didn't image Saab had more problems than just ugly cars. Unless they plan on making at least one normal car they might as well throw in the towel.

The point of no return has long since passed for Saab. It was greatly expedited by GM's purchase of it.

Too many competitors with far better dealer networks, better selection of optioned vehicles and brand recognition.

It takes a special kind person to buy a Saab, they tend to be more artistic, and there are not enough customers.

Volvo and Jaguar should be thinking about this question.
