Review: Audi Q7 SUV

Having derived its platform from the five-passenger Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne, Audi delivers the seven-passenger Q7 SUV. Audi stretched the wheelbase by nearly six inches and the overall length by a full foot, providing adequate cargo room even when the removable third row of seating is installed. Like other luxury-oriented Audi products, Quattro AWD and a powerful 4.2-liter V-8 engine yield a satisfyingly competent all-around driving experience for warm or cold-weather climes.

What an ugly car, I would rather buy a BMW X5, a Cadillac SRX, or a Porsche Cayenne over this.

Wow, you must have a giant agenda against Audi. I think that the Audi looks better than those other ones. None of them are ugly. Also, none of hte cars that you mentioned have a third row of seats, or seven seats.

what an impressive looking suv, much better than its sisters suvs (toureg and chayenne)
hope it'll be reliable and long lasting..
been having a disastrous experience with audi and vw brands..
had a passat, A6 saloon, A6 station wagoon, and avant-garde.. all of them got electronic berserk
despite of the warranty, but it took my time pretty good going back and forth to the repair shop..
have to wait and see for the long-term test review to see if this is worthy of buying..
i hope it will, i’ll keep my finger crossed

Audi has the softest materials inside. Audi's plastic is much softer than the BMW's or even Mercedes's. The interior of the BMW X3 is as hard as the Cobalt's. It might have plastic, but it also has real wood, and the plastic is the highest quality available.

Our current car is an A6. My wife thinks the Q7 is ugly and I like it a lot. My complaint is that one can only get it without the useless dinky little third row seats if the V6 model is ordered. I hate Audi's inherently out of balance 90-degree V6 and I'm hoping that the Q7 V6 will be the VW 15-degree VR6 which is much closer to the near perfectly balanced in-line 6 engine configuration. The Q7 catalog mentions that the V8 is a 90-degree unit but does not state the number of degrees between cylinder banks for the V6 which is mentioned on the same page.

I was the first to test drive the Q7 in the NE. Ira Audi in Danvers had just brought one in the day I stopped at the dealer.

The driving experience is waaay more sporty than I expected, not harsh at all but handling is amazing. It goes like my FX but with much more weight.

The interior is superior to anything else out there (Drew, you should clean your eyeglasses, they are full of SH*@!).
