Actually is new GC chassis is based off the current ML. The interior is entirely different the ML (as is most of the car save the chassis). Most design elements occured under the nightmare ownership of Cerberus Capital Management.

I am impressed with how many none luxury brands and even entry level cars are on this list. They are really paying more attention to detail. I really like the interior of the MB E class.

this is an awful list IMHO. it's missing out on the new Cayenne / Panamera or other luxury vehicles. I guess one would have to create a whole different breed / list in order to separate those "super" achievers.
