MORE Pictures, Lexus' LF-Gh Gets Unveiled, Is THIS The Lexus We've Been Waiting For?
For such a long time, everyone has been taking a stick to Lexus over its styling department. Although cars like the latest generation IS, and already legendary LFA, were a bit edgier, the other vehicles in the line up seem to lack some chutzpah.

They were handsome but just lacking some character. Well, I don't think we can say the same for this latest concept, dubbed the LF-Gh, which is set to debut at the 2011 New York Auto Show. It's definitely more contemporary and evoking a younger feel.

But, is this really what we want? Did Lexus cross the border?

There are a lot of interesting elements to this vehicle because it seems to take some aspects of the radical IS-F and put it together with the conservative GS. Additionally, one key place that I think will largely be overlooked is the interior.

Although we don't have any interior shots YET, from the initial teasers it looks like Lexus has spent a lot more time in that department and may finally be ready to show us something a little more bespoke and a little less Toyota.

Be sure to stay tuned for next week's New York Auto Show coverage...

This car is growing on me really fast. Especially after seeing the "in-motion" youtube video. It's like e-tron sedan style.

Correction from above I really mean quattro sedan style.

Very bold and aggressive design from Lexus. Judging from the exterior, it is likely geared towards performance and than luxury. Grille is not to my taste and likely will not be on production version but it has got many interesting design cues like cutting of rear doors and roofline(which hints at future GS), tail lights. I give design 7/10.

I don't understand how Acura can be lambasted for it's bucktooth and most here actually like this monstrosity!

No, the GS since it's rear wheel drive and has the G designation on the LF-Gh nomenclature.

Hideous. And that's being kind. The profile reminds me of the previous generation BMW 5, which was known for not being a pretty sight, too. The front end looks like the worst of Audi+Evo, heavily stylized.

It has alot of nice lines. Not to sure how i feel about the head lights yet, but overall it looks good. Very modern design, making most of the cars from europe look a little dated.

Love it or hate it, at least it's progress

I like the styling but it is a shameless ripoff (like ALL Lexus/Toyota products) of the previous BMW 5-series. Can't believe no one has posted that yet.

what is it? all i see are pieces of other well-known designs. the hofmeister kink/rear quarter/side view tailights are picture-perfect last gen 5-series. the grill looks like some bizarre interpretation of audi's new grills. but most of the car looks like a super-sized 5-year old IS250.

and remember, this is a lexus 'concept.' we all know how real those are. the LFA was 'concept at 7 years of auto shows before it showed up....

Even Toyota had "Hoffmeister kink" before BMW:

No BMW was not the frist (the Toyota Rectifier link to is not even close to a Hoffmiester Kink) but it has been a defining design element for BMW for 50 years. So I would say BMW pretty much owns the "kink" now.

Is this car turbocharged to warrant the size of the grill? The car is very appealing.

I understand cars won't need side view mirrors at some point in the future, but I still miss seeing them on concepts, just looks weird without them.

Bold? Aggressive? Progress? Is everyone on this site blind? It's an overgrown Lexus IS with bits from the LS thrown in. I'm not saying that the IS is ugly, it's not and has aged very well, but it's a 8 year old design. Strip the tacky boy racer front end (won't be in production) and the Audi-esque tail lights / rear end (will be toned down in production) and it's more of the same.

Not too crazy about it right now, but this is just a rough draft, Im sure Lexus will refine it before it hits showrooms. Too early to pass judgement I think.

It's the lack of real side mirrors that make this thing look more weird than it is. I hate when manufacturers do this, they try and make it look all futuristic when well all know we won't have cameras for mirrors and it just throws everything off. the tail lights, front lights, and interior are awesome, but the grill isn't doing it for me. The rest of it will just look weird until there are some actual mirrors on ther

It's rare to see the production car look nicer than the concept but I believe with this car that will be the case because they definitely need to tone it down and this will look amazing.

If this is another mid-pack performing sedan like most Lexus', then the styling treatment is wasted on this car.

I like the aggressive tones of this design, but the rear quarter reminds me of some German product. I am not digging the headlights: too different to be different looking.

I agree. Lexus needs to borrow the strategy that Nissan took with the Maxima. Lexus should shrink the GS in size and increase the performance.

The GS was always a little big, but she was able to dance while rewarding her partner. The current GS is the automotive equivalent of a "dead fish"!
