SPIED: Ford's Next-Gen Focus RS Spotted Testing
One car that has always gained notoriety but hasn't made it into the States is the Ford Focus RS. Now that the next-generation Focus is out, it appears that Ford may be working on the new RS.
With any luck, the US will get it for the first time since Ford is embracing global products.
There is a catch too: it appears that Ford will be making a Focus RS Touring. With that said, are there even any competitors in this market that can keep up with the RS? The only two vehicles that I believe would have a chance would be the Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru WRX STI.

Fun fact, the cars appear to be named "Megan" and "Fox II." Clever, huh?

I wouldn't even say the MS3. The MS3 is going to be compared with the upcoming Focus ST that IS coming to the states end of year (November projection). That car will have the Ecoboost engine with a projected 250hp (no solid #'s yet). The MS3 is more competitive with the Subaru WRX than the STI.
That being said the RS would be an STI/EVO fighter.

Also my bet is that the RS will not come to the US, at least not in this first (new) generation. The ST will be a marker for Ford to decide whether or not to bring the RS here. My bet is that if they did, they would bring it out with the refresh in a few years along with a diesel option for the lineup.
