AWESOME or AWFUL: Mopar Creates A 2011 Dodge Charger Just Under $40k

AWESOME or AWFUL: Mopar Creates A 2011 Dodge Charger Just Under $40k
That's right, just under $40,000. Essentially what you get is a 2011 Dodge Charger retrofitted as the R/T version, with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. That means you get 370 horsepower.

On the exterior we see this Charger gets upgraded brakes, new wheels and tires, a paint scheme featuring the Mopar blue line and an updated front grill. Moving inside there are upgraded leather seats featuring blue trim, pedal covers and engine-turned instrument bezels.

Although there are several more details to the vehicle, it seems a bit pricey for what you get, unless you're into this vehicle for the exclusivity. Only 900 are being built for the U.S. and 100 for Canada.

Is 00R onto something or is this car priced correctly?

Mopar fans, rejoice: Chrysler’s in-house performance division has released detailed information including prices and the first real life photos of its new Mopar ’11 Charger special outfitted with custom upgrades inside and out. The limited edition Charger follows in the footsteps of last year's Mopar version of the Dodge Challenger and will be built in 1,000 units, 900 of which are destined for the U.S. and 100 for Canada...

Would it have killed them to put the 6.1 in it.

I've notice this car isn't very photogenic because is looks just like the old Charger but in person it looks great. As far as this specific one I would Never spend that much money on a Dodge but I am sure that other people who have different taste than me would. And as far as a 6.1 liter car that sounds like madness to me I don't want a car that goes above three let alone six.

Agreed with the 6.1, this seems like a lot of money for only 370hp, muscle cars, at least by today standards should be pushing a little higher than 400, then again its a charger and that thing went wrong since it came out as a 4-door.

Awesome, sans tepid stripe! Styling of course is always subjective. However, name one American, European or Asian rear-drive V8 powered automobile that provides all the standard features and driving experience this Charger has for the price? You can't!

No car in it's price range (even some that are more more costly) can come close to the 2nd generation LX series Charger/300 in regards to the overall package provided. In fact, many of the car publications have praised Fiat/Chrysler for the handling dynamics of the new Charger. MotorTrend stated that if Chrysler/Fiat upgraded the 5 speed transmission, the 2011 Charger "would be spoken about in the same lofty platitudes as the BMW E39 M5. This car is that close to being a performance legend."

Do some of you Autospies posters actually read and/or drive the cars you banter negatively about beforehand to make objective opinions before posting gibberish?

Your amusing reply makes no sense whatsoever. You haven't provided any counter argument(s) to my original statement in regards to the Dodge Charger's positive virtues because quite frankly, you can not.

In the future, I would suggest that you please abstain from making absurd comments which have no real value or merit as it only shows that your foolish and empty-headed. Now go away little child and suck on your pacifier. This is a website for EDUCATED CAR ENTHUSIASTS, not silly, immature juveniles such as yourself.

Like it or not I think it a have a lot of horsepower for under $40,000 range. But the question remain how well it drive and handle. I never driven one so I can't make judgement in that department.
