Are Days Of Buying A new Car For $10K Over With?
With the expected introduction of the 2012 Nissan Versa at the New York auto show next week, the U.S. could lose the last of a breed: the sub-$10,000 car.

For a couple years, Nissan's stripped-down Versa has been the cheapest car in America. Right now, it's still listed on its website at a starting price $9,990 -- a mere 10 bucks under the magic number. If Nissan doesn't raise the the price of the new one from the start, it's sure to let it rise within a few months.

Doesn't the Hyundai accent start at $9985?

The Hyundai Accent 3-door lists on their web site for $9985, so there are choices, even though they are few. No matter how you slice it, 10 grand doesn't get you much in the way of a car. But considering that a new Harley Davidson sportster motorcycle starts at about $8800, getting a car for only 13% more money sounds like an amazing deal! It all depends on how you look at it.

The new Versa will look much better than the current one and have some decent styling in the 10k category.

Anything is an improvement over the current ugly looking car, so bring it on, Nissan.
