Nissan Issues Service Campaign Rather That A Recall To Fix 5300 Leaf EV Cars
Responding to complaints from owners of its new Leaf EV who've found that their cars won't start after an instrument panel warning light illuminates, Nissan Motor Co. said this morning that it will ask owners of 5,300 of the electric cars in the U.S., Japan and Europe to bring them to a dealer for a fix.
The company said that 500 U.S. Leaf customers – that's about the total number who've received the EV so far - are involved in what it calls a "service campaign" rather than a formal recall.

so if the vehicles won't start, does that mean a service campaign is worse then most standard recalls? lol
