Is The All-New Citroen DS5 A Car You WISH We Could Get In The States?
Although I know the AutoSpies community is exponentially growing outside of the U.S., one thing that remains a constant is that the States gets the shaft when it comes to a lot of cool cars.

The automotive market has been getting better in recent years and further proof of this is Ford, which finally decided to bring over its global products -- I am talking about the Fiesta and Transit Connect. Additionally, the Buick Regal is really a rebadged Opel Insignia, and I dig it.

One brand we don't see though is Citroen. Hell, we don't even get rebadged vehicles from this marque. But when I take a look at the all-new DS5 that was unveiled in Shanghai, I can't help but be intrigued. Especially when I get a good look at its interior.

Am I alone on this one here OR would you want to get a taste of the DS5 too?

Just introduced in Shanghai, the DS5 is funkier, freakier and, well, Frencher than ever, all while bringing the DS line into its most practical application to date. And with Peugeot’s diesel-hybrid drivetrain in which the rear wheels are driven electrically (lowering drivetrain complexity and weight), the DS5 even has a hint of the old-school Citroen creativity in its engineering. Fans of the French car, it’s time to let your freak flags fly...

"Although I know the AutoSpies community is exponentially growing outside of the U.S"

Better looking (design wise, original and inspiring) than 90% of the cars here in the states. Yes! Citroen and Alfa Romeo, please come over to our shores and save us from the bland pickings that we have under 70K.

Nice cars, drove a C6 last winter in Bordeaux, the car felt like a cross between the Camry and a 5 series Bimmer, quiet and smooth suspension. the Diesel was freakishly fuel efficient and quiet but you need to get used to some of the corny stuff ...

2 Ashtrays/High class smoke trays was loltastic though ... very french

00R - you should know better than trying to show French cars here. There's just too much anti-French sentiment in the US (and I still don't understand why, I mean, they did help us in our Revolution against the Brits, they participated in both World Wars, they support our effort to push democracy to the far corners of the world, etc.). As for Citroen, for those that pay attention, I've always posted my admiration for Citroens in terms of aesthetic and futuristic design as well as revolutionary technology (2CV, DS, SM, CX, etc.). This is truly better than many many designs out there but you know, it's not even that great when viewed within Citroen sphere. Hell, it steering wheel isn't even a one spoke design :-) Atleast we can admire it from afar.

Actually the name Cheverolet is named after a Frenchman. So all the anti Frenchees that own Chevy's are a bunch of hypocrites. An American car with a French name. French cars should come back to the US. I would guess that all of them are much better built then they were back in the 70's and 80's. (Just like the Fiat 500 is a much better built car then Fiats of yesteryear)I love the Citroen C6.Renault makes a megane Sport that is probably the best handling FWD on the planet. Peugeot has just come out with the handsome 508 getting good reviews. The French still have great style in autos and the US should get to enjoy them.
