NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: MORE Pictures Of The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

So, this is the car that not so long ago created a widespread stir. After all, that is what happens when Oprah decides to give them away, right?

Would you say this is better than her gift of Pontiacs several years back?

While the new Beetle has been largely characterized as a femme product -- a pre-installed vase didn't help matters -- this 2012 revamp seems to bring in a bit more of a butch character. Its exterior is more stout as if it has been getting leaner at the gym and its interior blends a mix of old and new. Essentially, this creates an ambiance that appears more contemporary than vintage.

Looks better than anything in the current VW lineup that's for sure. I actually like the design in itself (not saying I would buy or recommend one).

On a side note, hey Spies where's the Subaru XV Concept (bland), Volvo Concept Universe (awful), and the Audi A3 e-tron concept (awesome)?
