Was this a shock or an upset to anyone?

Of the available diesels in the US, the Bimmer is the only one geared more towards an enthusiast rather than an economic, yet it still achieves a high MPG. While the VWs are 'fun' to drive, and the Benzs have the luxury thing down pat, the only other 'sporty' model that I can think of would be the Audi A3, and I wouldn't really classify it as a sports sedan/wagon, but thats me.

The E90 335d is a great car. Well done BMW AG. Although I have never heard of this honor. Probably due to my not having a diesel car or truck and reading the mag!
