AWESOME or AWFUL: Is THIS State Trooper In/Out Of Line?

AWESOME or AWFUL: Is THIS State Trooper In/Out Of Line?
You know when you're cruising along on the highway and you run across one of these jerks? The type that SITS in the left lane and isn't moving to the right, as drivers were all taught when we first obtained licenses.

Well, thanks to a state trooper in the great state of New Jersey, maybe that won't happen anymore.

Feast your eyes down below.

How many times have you come across a slow driver that refuses to let go of the fast lane? Probably more times that you can remember. In this video we see one of those drivers in a Honda Civic, the difference being that the person behind him / her is a state trooper...

Good for him. Frankly if I was ever in a position to make laws I'd make it legal to ram drivers who crawl in the left lane and steadfastly refuse to move right.

The problem with your argument is that if the Civic NEVER goes any faster or slower than the person in the right lane next to them, there will NEVER be a good opportunity for them to move. I come across that a lot where we are going by a tractor trailer in the middle lane but the guy in front gets scared or nervouse or whatever and creeps along at the trucks speed. Either let off the gas and get behind or speed up and move over. It's not a hard concept, people get too afraid of using their gas pedals.

I must agree, I drive in the fast lane all of the time, and if there is a faster driver I am elated to let him be my pigeon, I always let faster drivers pass, but when it is some prick cop is behind you will get a ticket potentially going 1mph over the limit, so maybe that is why the civic was going slow? Maybe this was one of the better cops? I was impressed.

I wish more police took this kind of action, force the person to the right lane. Maybe a loud speaker would have helped in telling the driver to remain right except to pass or something along those lines, but still great to watch the rule being FINALLY enforced.

The problem is the ticket, cops get more for speeding which means more revenue for the state and less for someone not obeying the keep right laws. So, raise the fine and enforce keep right. Have campaigns like they do for seatbelts and cell phone checks a few weeks a year where they actively promote and enforce the keep right law.

Also, the Civic was in the wrong to begin with, everyone knows that if there is a trooper in the left lane, you have two options:
1) Be in another lane NOT going faster than them
2) Stay behind them at a safe following distance

People fail to realize that even a local cop can pull you over on a state road, they just need to call up the Statey to come and handle the violation.

Wish he would transfer to where I live. What we need is a television campaign to tell ignorant people how to drive. kind of like that foundation for a better life commerial you see. I would call it the foundation for better driving.
