VIDEO: Six BMW M Customers Share Their Thoughts On The BMW M5 Concept
Now that the highly anticipated BMW M5 Concept has been unveiled, there has been a decoupling amongst M fans. Essentially, the two sides are split up like this:

- The all-new M5 is fantastic and reminiscent of the E39, which is a good thing. I'll paraphrase one customer's impression; it's simple yet properly M.

- The all-new M5 is not flashy enough and doesn't make a statement. More or less, it's boring.

With that said, let's take a step back and hear what some on-site visitors to the M5's launch in Shanghai had to say about the vehicle.

Six of the BMW M5 fans that registered at M-Power.com, had the chance to be the first customers to see the BMW Concept M5 at the BMW M headquarter. And while they where at it, they also had the chance to have a look at the BMW M garage -together with the BMW M president Dr. Kay Segler...

The "on-site visitors" shown in the video are usually the typical buyer demographic for the M series automobiles, so I'm not surprised that BMW continues this trend with conservative styling ques. That being said, even though I am not a fan of the F10 5 series, I think this M5 concept looks marvelous.

Audi has one car with a full aluminum chassis the A8 and its been that way for around 15+ years. Some of their other models are utilizing more aluminum but so are other manfactures, and thats about as far as they are going.

The upcoming models from BMW will utilize aluminum, plus carbon fiber, reforced carbonfiber plactics, and magnesium, on a mass scale which has never been done before.

How would an M5 weigh less than 3500Lb when the car it is based off weighs 4100lbs. It would need an entirely different chassis which wouldn’t make fiscal sense, or they would have to strip it out to the point it would no longer be a luxury car. A 3500lb 600hp midsized luxury car(that would cost under 100K) would be unrealistic in todays market. Maybe in 5-10 years.
