DRAG Race Between 2011 Panamera Turbo Vs. 2011 CTS-V Wagon Vs. 2011 X6M

DRAG Race Between 2011 Panamera Turbo Vs. 2011 CTS-V Wagon Vs. 2011 X6M
In the battle of 500 horsepower plus wagons/sport-utility devices/whatever you want to call them, there can only be one winner. Aside from their hefty price tags and hefty outputs, these cars are all fantastic vehicles aside from numbers they lay down at the track.

Having driven all three, I can say they all have dual personalities, it is just a matter of what YOU want to exercise out of them. All three of these autos can putter around town quietly OR they can be taken to the track to blow your mind away.

It's really insane what all three vehicles are capable of.

BUT, which one is the fastest in a straight line competition?

Seek and ye shall find...

We line up three odd ducks - the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, 2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo and 2011 BMW X6 M - at the drag strip to see who comes out on top...

Maybe they should of put in a Bugatti there also, what exactly does this prove, that a car that cost nearly 100 grand more than a cts-v and about 60 grand more than an x6m won? Not to mention that it's a sedan vs a large SUV or whatever you want to call it, and a wagon.

wait, so a 100K S400 hybrid should be faster in 1/4 mile than a 55K Lotus Elise because its almost twice the price? You are right, the other day, I saw a more expensive 80K cadillac escalade blow away a 70K M3 light to light, because the escalade was more expensive...

ThierryHenry14-

Apples to apples. How about a Phaeton and a Phantom?

I'm just saying prices doesnt matter, no matter what we are trying to prove. A 50K sedan could be faster than a 80K sedan. A 100K sedan could be faster than a 400K sedan. Price doesnt prove anything... Or how about a 100K ZR1 vs. a 260K Vanquish S?

I understand if your argument is about the fact that they are made for different purposes, but putting price into the mix and saying its expected that a more expensive car will be faster is just ignorant.

Are you serious ?

WTF has price got to do with this comp ?

Panamera 500hp // 568lb-ft // 4,468lbs.
CTS-V 556hp // 551lb-ft // 4,371lbs.

So the CTS-V had MORE horsepower and LESS Weight and according to most guys on this site RWD rules on dry surfaces and sometimes even on wet.

X6-M managed to stay almost level to the CTS-V even though the X6 had more drag and 1 less hp and powertrain losses due to AWD setup.

Ye price has nothing to do with it, lets start comparing a Bugatti to a mustang now.

When it comes to Motor Trend the viewer or reader should always raise a one brow. Because they have been know to be pretty bias in their end result testing. I don't even read Motor Trend anymore.

It is nothing short of astonishing that the X6M can keep up with the CTS-V. The X6M also stopped quicker than the Panamera, and beat the CTS-V in the figure 8 test, and its a 5100lb SUV!! BMW M is definitely showing off its engineering muscle with this monster.

Well, not exactly, I95SPEEDINGTICKETS. Your comment referred to the drag race only, I guess.

mclaren428 noted other performance comparisons that indicates the X6M is capable of doing more than just speeding in a straight line. The 2.5 ton midsize SUV is capable of doing somethings better than the sport-luxury sedan and the luxury-sport wagon.

if i could have ANY car on the market right now, it would be the panamera turbo. unmatched combination of performance, luxury, customization options and just plain old amazing engineering.
