Turn Up The VOLUME: THIS Is What Scion's FR-S Sounds Like, Thumbs UP or DOWN?

Turn Up The VOLUME: THIS Is What Scion's FR-S Sounds Like, Thumbs UP or DOWN?
The car we thought was the most impressive at the 2011 New York Auto Show was the Scion FR-S, otherwise known as the FT86 project car between Toyota Motor Sales and Subaru.

Now they've switched the badging and put out a third different looking vehicle. It's been an interesting maturity but Toyota has managed to keep our attention. Although I am interested in seeing what Subaru does with this chassis, FT86 Club has managed to snag some sound of the car.

**Take a listen of the FR-S/FT86 down below**

Here are official sounds of the Scion FR-S / Toyota FT-86 concept (specifically from the Toyota FT-86 II Concept shown at the 2011 Geneva Autoshow).

The sound should be the same or very similar for all 3 Scion FR-S / FT-86 cars since they all feature the same Boxer engine and exhaust setup.

Official sounds clips are from the official Toyota FT-86 II Concept Site...

If the production model look and sound like the one in the video it will sales like hot cake for sure. I want one just exactly like the pictures in this post. I hope they offer several different engine version like a base model with 200 hp and top range 300+ hp would be nice.

It sounded really good, almost like an Infiniti G35/37 coupe.

300+ hp Toyota that performs? This isn't 1996.

I like the sound too. Hope there is good amount of power to match the sound. 200BHP should be entry level engine.

Woe to the blind man who cannot appreciate this car's aesthetic value..
I can't comment on the sound because my computer's speakers are nonoperational.

Sound? What about performance numbers? Or is sound the only thing that matters now-a-days? Either way, the simple fact that Toyota isn't talking about performance, leads me to believe that the car will perform at about Scion TC levels. Which is a bloody shame if that's true.

Yeah, most engines under near 0 load sound pretty good when they are rev'd to just under 3500 rpm.

Let's hear how it sounds doing 85mph with a rapid downshift.
