WOW! A Die-Hard Bimmer Fan Builds The M3 BMW DIDN'T Make
There are project cars, then there is this.

One car that I believe many Bimmerphiles wish was built, but never made the cut, was an E46 M3 sedan. The closest we ever got to such a thing was the E46 330i performance package, affectionately known as "ZHP."

But that didn't stop one incredibly ambitious fellow from Norway -- at least I think Norway -- who decided that he would take matters into his own hands to meld together a 1998 318i and a 2002 M3 SMG. Thus, he made the ultimate masterpiece: an E46 M3 sedan.

Well played, sir.

If you're a geek for all things E46, then you should click "Read Article" down below to follow the step-by-step process of the ENTIRE build from start to finish. I suggest you get out your favorite snack and watch "Jeppe" chronicle this transformation.

**Special thanks to J for the tip

The car people are building are E46 M3's with the S85 V10 in it. That is the one people wished BMW had built.

Nice 318. Do you think he likes it when current gen M3 sedans blow past him?

Ha.. M3? My 335i sedan would blow past that. There's plenty of videos on YouTube that show what happens when you put up a 335i against a *real* E46 M3, this Frankenstein wouldn't stand a chance.

Theres a difference between what this guy did and a ricer. I know a guy that turned his 97 Mitsubishi mirage ( lancer to the rest of the world ) into an Evo. 4g63 engine conversion and all of the body work/suspension. It was not a ricer. A Ricer is an distastefully done car with a fart can muffler and cheap $10 universal air filter with stickers and the owner actually thinks those two mods make it faster than a mustang or camaro. It has an outrageously huge wing that is dis-proportionate to the rest of the car.

This BMW has more class and substance than 99% of most Japanese imports put together.

When BMW build a car, it's because they want to build something special. Yeah they're doing it for profit as well, and the bean counters definitely have their say on a few matters, but numbers and profit sheets don't rule the process. Most Japanese cars on the other hand were literally created by accountants. The goal of the people who make them is to put in as little quality as humanly possible, and still get away with it.
