AutoExpress Showdown: 2012 Audi A6 Defeats BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-class!

AutoExpress has gotten their hands on the all-new 2012 Audi A6 and put it up against the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-class. in this test AutoExpress compares the Audi A6 2.0 TDI to the BMW 520d and Mercedes-Benz E220 CDI.

AutoExpress concludes that while the BMW 520d is still the best option for driving enthusiasts, it's the Audi A6 2.0 TDI that provides the best overall combination of highway and city driving, fuel efficiency, luxury and performance.

The Mercedes-Benz E220 provides a solid option but it can't match the driving dynamics of the BMW or the style and interior luxury of the Audi.

So the 5-Series loses a comparison test in Motor Trend because it wasn't sporty enough. Here it lost because it was too sporty. Just goes to show you can't be everything to everyone.

Its ok for a BMW to lose to an Audi. The world isnt comeing to an end. They both make great cars.

Everything in any article is subjective. I've stopped reading reviews from leading car magazines ages ago since I can form my own opinion about cars just by driving them or reading various reviews from consumers about them (about things that actually matter like interior space etc.).

If I was interested in a car here I'd go out and drive them and then decide.
