SPIED: Mazda's Upcoming Small SUV, The CX-5 Gets SPIED!
One of the stars at the 2011 New York Auto Show was the Mazda CX-5. Although one would expect the CX-5 to go up against the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, it looks more and more like an Audi Q3 or BMW X1 combatant.
That's probably because of its high-tech-looking interior and exterior wrought with strong lines. Note its large-faced grill, which gives the vehicle a very strong presence?
Well, for the first time the CX-5 was spotted undergoing testing in Europe. Sportin' camouflage and modified exterior panels, it clearly is a prototype that's getting put through its paces.

The CX-7 is already a small SUV, so what would this compete against? The Juke? The 7 is more in line with the CRV, Rav 4, Escape, etc.
Either way although a nice design, the side profile gives it the overall shape of an Audi Q.

Concept looks much better than many crossovers like BMW X1, Audi Q3. Hope not much design changes in the transformation from concept to production version. B pillars backwards looks like Hyundai Tucson in the 3rd photograph.
