SPIED: Audi's Refreshed S5 Sportback Gets Spotted Wearing Camouflage

SPIED: Audi's Refreshed S5 Sportback Gets Spotted Wearing Camouflage
Although the Audi S5 has been largely considered a good looking vehicle for the past several years, it is starting to get a bit stale. It has received some updates here and there but it just hasn't been enough to keep this car up to date.

So, Audi is planning to introduce a refreshed version coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show, says Auto Motor Und Sport. It can't be too far off because not only have we seen the A5/S5 prototypes undergoing road testing but additionally, we now have pictures of the S5 Sportback getting a workout under some camouflage.

Any ideas on what will be changed?

If I had to guess I would say Audi will do minor tweaks much in line with the updates to the recently refreshed TT.

How bout adding a middle seatbelt for either this or the A7?

Spot on. It's a big sale point, having 5 seats. I've been inside both and they have the room to put in a middle one. I know people who considered both but ended up settling with a different brand purely based on the absence of a 5th seat.

Really? So they didn't get an A6 or an A8 because they wanted the diminished rear-seating capacity of a car with a coupe-like roof-line, but with the ability to cram three people in there? Are they shuttling dwarves or is the hatchback opening that desirable?

No, the 5th seat is very useful for families who have younger children. The smaller middle seat can be used for a child seat.

What exactly is the point of putting Camo on an Audi, they pretty much all look the same.

The A5/S5 looks like no other Audi

from the front and the back they sure do. The only view that's different is from the side, and the only difference is a wavy flank line instead of a straight one.

Why does it have camo? There is one right behind it without camo.

Yawn!!!! An "S" Badged Audi that can only compete with a regular BMW 335? The M3 kills it. What's the significance of the "S" badge again? I think the whole purpose of the "S" badge is so that Audi can justify the BMW M3 like price. Too bad the S5 only offers BMW 335 level performance. No Thanks.

As for the Refresh? Who cares? Audi's are overpriced ripoffs anyway. I'm waiting for something like the S3 concept to come out. The current Audi's are an embarrasment.

Unsurprisingly, you can clearly see that they've updated the grille to the trapezoidal one of the A7. I'm sure the lights will be slightly updated as a result. I sure wish they'd offer this here in the States.
