SPY PHOTO: Is this the next Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX?

A lot of people can't wait for the next Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX.

Is this the platform for both?

Damn Toyota is even using MB S class fenders on their trucks!!! (Sarcastic!) Actually I don't think I have ever seen bigger fenders on a vehicle...lol. Another photochop with a new Tundra front end and basic land cruiser setup with them fenders added.

If anything this has to be the new Sequoia. The Sequoia was always designed based on the Tundra. And with redesign of the Tundra, a redesigned Sequoia is only natural.

I don't think Toyota would design the Land Cruiser larger than the Sequoia, eventhough it is more expensive. The only reason they are keeping the Land Cruiser is because it has been around so long and recognized around the world as a off-road capable vehicle. I think the next design of the Land Cruiser will be more practical with something that will work globally than just with the U.S. idea of supersizing everything. Probably aim more towards Range Rover owners, since the two have been around for about the same amount of time.

The front end from the upcoming Tundra, looks horibly out of place on that SUV, it is soft, but is fitted to the sharp edged SUV.

I think Toyota should replace completely the Land Cruiser with the Sequoia. This does look more likely like the new Sequoia, the Lexus LX should look less truck like than this one and more lexurious.

woulda believe it real if they said it was the next Sequoia. look at the upper left corner and it looks like it says something like "330 Series will use(?) a 4.4L twin turbo diesel V8..." furthermore this supposedly was published in February. what took so long for it to get here? bogus man.

in other news... yeah. a Land Cruiser/LX470 makeover is WAY over due. this model been out from like '98 or something.

also. killing off the Land Cruiser would be like killing the Supra. it may not be the money maker for Toyota but it remains the flagship of Toyota trucks.

***light bulb***

Toyota should power the next Land Cruiser the with the next Tundra's upgrade big engine and make it a hybrid standard. one model like the FJ Cruiser. it would be the vehicle to get you to the boondocks and not destroy the boondocks in the process.

This picture of the upcoming landcruiser is probably to mislead people as to the actual vehicles' new looks. The new Landcruiser (Amazon) MUST still possess the off road capability of the previous three generations, namely the 60, 80 and 100 series. It must be able to look good with an ARB bumper and a two inch suspension lift at least, as used in the outbacks of Australia. It is the Landcruiser's destiny. As for on road biased tuning, it must be a different vehicle that will fill up this niche.

Nice looking suv,I like the old landcruiser! They should call this grocery getter something else and market it to ski buffs... or who ever and make a real bare bones off road machine/landcruiser that has 2 solid axles with selectable lockers and compete with the Jeep Rubicon! Why not make an over kill off road machine? For the people who can't relate to this concept buy a BMW.I wan't a real 4x4!

The vehicle in your pic is a Isuzu Alterra. Its a suved version of the Isuzu pick up. We have this model in the Philippines. The concept is similar to the Ford Everest in asian markets. An SUV body on a pick up chassis.

What a boring suv.The current models have been around forever. The current rebadged lexus is just ugly with the bubble headlights and boxy shape. Many people hoped for a replacement years ago and after such a long wait they surely hope this is not it.If so what a waist of time.
