VW recalls more cars-This time it's the Passat

Volkswagen recalled 34,000 units of its Passat mid-sized car worldwide due to a potential problem with the clutch, the company said on Wednesday.

A spokesman said Passats built between April and May 2005 equipped with 2.0-litre TDI engines and six-gear manual transmissions were affected by the recall.

He declined to comment on the financial costs of potentially having to replace the parts, but said that VW was negotiating with suppliers over compensation for damages.

The compact-sized VW models Golf hatchback, Golf Plus, Jetta sedan and Touran minivan were also affected by the same problem in a previous recall.

Volkswagen brand chief Wolfgang Bernhard has made the issue of quality a top priority, but in a recent JD Power initial quality survey among U.S. drivers, Volkswagen was ranked once again towards the bottom this year after a similarly disastrous result last year.

That 34,000 cars is a lot less, than the number of cars recalled by Toyota.

I have that 2.0TDI in an Audi, and i hope they dont call me back.

BTW: 34.000 2.0TDI in one month only with manual transmissions. THATS A LOT OF CARS

It is only 5.88% of the total Passats made for that time period. Still far from the 10.8% of all Toyotas recalled last year.

What's your problem u fool,if VW had a recall, then what u or me or toyota can do or should do.
Or maybe u r making Toyota responsible for the VW's recall or maybe trying to say that Toyota is having so many recalls this year,VW said why stay behind.LOLLLLLLLLL

Other than these, why Toyota should be assosciated with VW or VW's recalls.
Next time mind your words. If u have some hatred towards Toyota, don't spread out here,go somewhere where this crap is spoken and listened.

U r really the worst one here.
