More Jaguar XKR coupe/convertible photos spied

This continues the uninspired tradition of poor design we've come to expect from Jaguar since Ford took over.

No wonder the company isn't living up to its long range sales when the car looks outdated and it hasn't even been introduced yet.

How come Mercedes can create the SL, Aston Martin the DB9, Bentley the Continental and Faguar creates this straight to rental car XKR?

I don't think it looks bad. If I was in that price point of cars this would not even be a consideration however.

It cracks me up to read some of these things.... first off, yeah Jags had acres of wood in the old days, but not the XK-E. Not a drop of wood to be found in that Jag sports coupe.... As for all the Ford mentioning, I guess that would mean a lot of cars would bbe considered crap, such as your DaimlerCHRYSLER Mercedes... VW Bentley....Its the 21st Century and things cost too much now for anyone to go it alone. Yes FOrd has f*up somewhat with Jaguar and has made some mistakes. The next S-Type I think will make or break Jag. It will have to be a homerun or else Jag may go the way of the Dodo....

There are several issues with Jaguar right now. Jaguar used to be recongnized as a creator of emotional, recognizable, and prestigeous cars. Can you say: 55' XK Drophead?!

Current Jaguars - with exception to the XJ (The best Jaguar styling in my opinion except for the Ford center console!) - have a certain generic feel about them. They are not distinguished enough from their competition and their blatant Ford parts sharing on crucial elements - even buttons - that would normally distinguish its cars as elite. This, among other reasons, such as styling, reliability, and drivetrain, are what make Jaguar a company that is several steps behind the competition. It really is very sad, but true. I love Jaguars and hate to see the brand fading away...

Jaguar can be retro and modern at the same time, but retro does not mean using parts from several year old Lincoln models (not something desirable anymore!) or Fords.

I don't know, but Jaguar, you disapoint me. Gotta love the 40-60s Jags, though!

God... that interior looks so uninspiring... ugh...
