Just Where Will Toyota Be In 10 Years?
Akio Toyoda must feel like he is jinxed. Since becoming president of his family's company in 2009, he has been buried under an avalanche of troubles -- the worst skein of bad news in the company's history.

First there was the global financial crisis, when as one of his first acts as president, he apologized to shareholders for the company's losses.

Then in August the recall imbroglio hit. Consumer complaints about unintended acceleration and other safety problems, magnified by the media's megaphone, led to the recall of 24 million vehicles worldwide, and seriously dented the company's long-held and hard won reputation for quality.

Chasing Hyundai if they do not get any injection of excitement in its lineup.

In 10 years there will be a Toyota in every driveway in America. They will have every segment covered with superior cars like they do now.

Superior cars? You really think the Camry is superior? Corolla? How can you be so sure when their quality remains a nagging issue? Transmission clunks, broken steering columns, bursting main oil valves, etc. I have two friends who bought a RAV4 in '06 and '07, and by the 3rd year, they were sick of all the repair issues, and by 2011 just gave up. They couldn't believe the number of people online demanding that the entire RAV4 model line-up be recalled.

So, seriously, Toyota can just as easily screw it up again in 10 years if they are not careful.

The 2005-2008 RAV4 is an example. Just google RAV4 and it will have more complaints than most any other car in its segment, ugh.

They really missed the boat in China and India, so US and Europe will be there focus as a top quality personal robotics and transport system manufacturer. Others will be living in a Blade-Runner type of Hell.

More than likely behind Nissan and Honda.

Making motorized wheel chairs since their main customer base will no longer be able to drive.

Hard to predict where Toyota will be but i am sure VW and Hyundai will enjoy their current strong form for many years. Safe guess is Toyota will be close to them ahead or behind don't know.

Damn. The Toyota fanboys are so sensitive, eh? They're out in force today deboosting the community. Or most likely it's just BlackDynamite using his 293 fake accounts to deboost people!

I've owned at least a dozen brands of cars and driven a dozen more. Toyota and Honda were my absolute least favorites. Horrible quality and extremely lacking in driving excitement.

But they're perfect cars for people who hate cars and driving.

Please give us the names of the higher quality car making companies over the last ten years.....Honda and Toyota may make appliances....but they're known for being reliable.
