Kelley Blue Book Values Chevrolet Volt At Only $17K After 36 Months

A 2011 Chevrolet Volt will be worth just over $17,000 after 36 months, the length of a typical lease, says Kelley Blue Book. That would be 42 percent of the car's $41,000 sticker price.

Eric Ibara, director of residual value consulting at Kelley, says the residual value projection seems low. But the first 200,000 Volts sold will qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit, effectively dropping the sticker to $33,500.

lol, if you complained about the new price, get one that's 3 years old haha. The warranty on the battery will still be 5 years?

Many would say that the first Corvette was a slow, handled like a truck, beautifully styled Turd! That Turd is worth a lot of money.

Calm down people. That is right on par with other cars that retail for the mid 30s. As was stated above, the incentive-driven discount price effectively allowed the price to be about $33,500. The KBB value does not, however ake into consideration, however that most $35k cars can be found everywhere and so their prices tend to be a bit more fluid. The Volt is still hard to find, several months after it has been unveiled,a nd is likely to remain that way a few months more. That will have an effect on residuals, at least for the first 3 years. After that (particularly after Gen II comes out) that will no doubt change a bit.
