GM wants an electric motor plant in the U.S.

General Motors Co. broke ground on Tuesday to mark where it will construct an electric motor plant at a site near Baltimore. A group of GM executives, along with Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, got together to support the carmaker’s new venture. This plant will be where GM will have its two-mode hybrid and heavy duty transmission operations.
