STUD OR DUD? Is The Veloster Going To Be A CR-Z Killer?

STUD OR DUD? Is The Veloster Going To Be A CR-Z Killer?
Rarely do we a see a show car concept make it to production without significant adjustments.

But if this series of shots is to be believed, then the Hyundai Veloster might be an exception to that rule. If it indeed makes it to the show looking like this, you can expect Hyundai will have a serious competitor for the Honda CR-Z.

But is it a STUD or DUD in your book?

Sure, it's not like it has to do much to beat the CR-Z.

Does the CR-Z really need to be killed? I kinda thought it was DOA

I think i've seen a grand total of 1 CR-Z on the road

They should both be put out of their misery

If I were in the market for a hatchback like this, the question I would ask is "Is this car better than the new Focus?"

Juke, CR-Z, Veloster - all of these are horrible!

I really like the CR-z, I don't get the fuss people are making about it, It's one of those cars that once again proves how much of a fluke this business is.

How can every single CT-200 be sold out and the CR-Z is not selling ???

The center exhaust looks cool. The rest is junk. The Honda is lame as well. Both duds.

How do these two compete? the CRz is a hybrid. This thing will out accelerate it, but the CRz shoudl yield better gas mileage.

The real classic sportcar is front engine (behind the frint suspension) rear wheel drive; light weight. The Veloster is 2584 lb, but the in line 4 cylinder engine is standing increasing the centre of gravity.
It is front wheel drive predicted understeer habitute.
The brake disc is 279/262 (f/r) which is not exceptional seems small in sportcar.
Veloster could be low price, because it can be based on a compact Hyundai in order to reduce the development and production costs.
Veloster? I think a used Bimmer Z3 or a used/new Miata would be better choice.
FT-86?

I actually think it looks pretty good in the white (it might just be growing on me.)
It also probably helps that I can only see the "coupe" side. They really should have just made it a traditional coupe and skipped the three-door gimmick.

I can't believe they're teasing up by driving around with sweet looking HID's that are rumored to be unavailable on the US Veloster. Instead, we get the shitty looking reflector headlights....almost a deal breaker for me, Hyundai.
