We've already reported about several models under consideration, but a new report is indicating the next-generation Passat (Euro-spec) could spawn coupe and convertible variants.

Don't think it will do well. The Altima and Accord coupe rule this category.

You don't think that Americans are ready for an affordable German alternative? Think again

maybe a little too refined for Americans at that price point ? Clean lines and simplicity comes across as boring for the average person.

This sounds like all that talk we heard several months ago about a possible Sonata Coupe/Convertible. I doubt it'll happen as it's a big cost gamble.

look at how well the Sonata is doing ! I'm sure it is a good deal at the price but the style is all over the place. You would never see a German made car with so many arcs and swirls. Scale and proportion is absent yet people love the 'style'

The new US Passat is very nice-looking. I wouldn't mind owning one.

My sister is actually ordering the new Jetta TDI. After a disastrous experience with her Prius II, she's been a loyal VW owner for four years now, first with a Golf and now with the new Jetta.

VW: It better be spectacular or don't bother.
