Well-It is certainly a better car overall then the Jetta. Why would sombody spring for a Jetta SEL when you could buy a base Passat for less money and a Passat Diesel for about a grand more. Further you get bigger sedan with nicer materials,independent rear suspension and a car that overall drives better. Ok it does not have the most avangarde styling of some competetors but I think it looks better then a Camry or Accord.(The Accord coupe looks decent but the sedan with those bulging lights is simply hideous). Also the Passat seems more user friendly. I particaularly like the wood dash. Looks old school Mercedes from the early 70's somehow.Making an interior dash look like a play station video game does not scream luxury to me.(Acura are you listening).
