PHOTOS: New Nissan caught?

The latest Nissan TV commercial talks about new cars coming and quickly shows some new models flying by on the screen.

At first we thought this vehicle was the new Altima but when we went to the archives it did not look the same as the Altima we saw in New York.

Does anyone know which Nissan these pics are of?

Is it the new Maxima? Altima? Totally new model?

The angles these pictures were taken make the car seem wider than it is. Also, the car is sporting the new "T" shaped grill. Believe me, I known when I see an American-bound Nissan!

from somebody who drives a Chevy Cobalt SS? I don't expect much.

CHEVY should stop making cars!

The Sentra... talk about engine fires anybody? Yea, ZAV, I do hope you end up driving one of those Sentra SE-Rs in the slight chance that it chatches on fire with you in it!

This looks like the Maxima.

I was on Nissan's website comparing the 2007 Altima and Maxima. By looking at the second picture it appears to be an Altima. The grill has sharper edges and it extends closer to the headlights.

Hey i found this cool site which has an extensive photo collection of the 07 Altima.

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/12/new-york-auto-show-nissans-ultimate-expression-of-the-altima/

This car isn't bad for its price in the segment, except the rear needs some getting used to

It doesn't look like the width of the Maxima. I would believe it's the Altima. Thought he headlights look almost the same as its older brother. But from the front view it looks better than the Max.

Working at a Nissan dealer we just got the 07 Maxima in yesterday and it's exactly the same as what is pictured. Looks better in person and is definetly an improvement over the 04-06 model. The interior is MUCH MUCH nicer also.

This is obviously the 07' Altima. I also agree, what is the point of having the Maxima. It will only be good if they put a V8 producing around 350hp and a turbocharged V6 with about 300hp.

OK, Rupert, if compared to a BMW lineup the Maxima would be the 7 series & the Altima would be the 5 series the Sentra would be the 3 series & the Versa would be the 1 series. This is only for lineup comparison purposes, of course. Hope that helped a bit. Go to www.nissanusa.com for further detail.

I don't get how nissan builts Infiniti. Nissan cars are falling beind and infiniti is catching up to lexus. whats wrong with this company. Do they not care about nissan anymore and just consentrate more in infiniti?

thank you elsparquito.
in europe, nissan has 4 suvs (murano, xtrail, pathfiner, patrol), a pick up (navara), one mini mpv (note which is rather good), one hatch back (the almera, which is a failiure and old) one family car (he primera, a taxi) one supermini(micra, weird looking hatchback and coupe-cabriolet) and the 350z.
nissan is trying to be different by doing many niche vehicles, as in many suvs filling different gaps, phasing out the saloons and hatches and introducing mini-niches (the note is a hatch/mpv cross, like a renault modus, same platform actually) and having a sports car. they are changing their image so as not to compete with renault, so renault are pushing their small car upmarket like the new clio which is comfy and has an expensive interior, and the micra remains cheap and cheerful.
we don't get infiniti. at all. never seen one in my life.
nissans image is only going up in england, with advertising, strong suvs, nice interiors and low prices (compare x5 to murano and discovery to pathfinder). murano, pathfiner x trail and 350z have a good image and following here, so yay nissan! many being made in britain helps of course and they upgraded the factory recently so it's all good.

elsparquito, we get 3 of the american line up. never heard of a maxima, versa, altima, titan, armada, xterra, quest, sentra, frontier (oh wait that's a navara, but we only get the diesel). oh well we probably don't want those cars)
go to www.nissan.co.uk for more info on what delights we get. multiply the price by 1.8 to get the dollar price, you will be shocked at how high it is.
don't forget we only get one option on the murano, and that's colour, so compare with the top model, not base.

Rupert, you're not missing out on much from Nissan. The only vehicles that standout are the Xterra (good 4X4 for the price - about $25k well equipped), the Altima (roomy & good power from the VQ 3.5L V6 for about $25k but bad torque steer from FWD platform), and Titan (mean 5.6L V8 - my brother has one).

No it is not the maxima,if you look at the side mirrors you will notice that they have turn signals on them therefore it is the one and only 2007 altima.
