Mercedes Queries Owners For A-Class And B-Class Interest?
Concerned loyalists of Mercedes-Benz, kindly be aware of a survey Mercedes-Benz has conducted in its efforts to involve a certain group of individuals in its business plans. The survey, as seen in the photo above, asks several questions on models which the company considers for entry into the U.S. market. Our Insider was not only kind enough to send us a picture of the survey that was handed out but also some information about the mentioned models and their release dates.

So people who own C and E class Mercedes are looking to downgrade? I would think that bringing over such cars would be more for entry level people looking to get into a Mercedes. BMW tried it with the 1 series and failed because they still priced it out of entry level.

I think Mercedes owners are often in 2 or 3 car families. So perhaps Mercedes is not expecting widespread downgrading but rather conquest sales. For example a family with an E Class may also have a smaller Ford or Toyota as a second vehicle, now the family may consider replacing the Ford or Toyota with a smaller Mercedes.
Separately from the conquest argument, Mercedes needs to get ahead of changing fuel economy standards/mandates so infusing the MB range with higher mpg vehicles will help to raise the overall MB fleet average.
