TRUE or FALSE: Is This The FIRST Image Of The NEW Volkswagen Beetle Convertible?

Is this what I think it is OR is it merely a Photoshopped image?

According to a German publication, AutoBild, it believes these are the first photos of the new Beetle drop top.

A closer look at the convertible top makes me a little curious and I am not entirely convinced. To be quite honest, it looks like a rendered shot from the car's appearance at the New York Auto Show.

Even if that's the case, something tells me that this image is not too far off from what VW will eventually put out.

With that said, what's the verdict Spies?

I can definitely tell by looking at some of the pixels that this is photoshopped, I have experience in this area by having seen many pshops in the past. Anyways it will probably look like that, the key for a convrtible is how it looks with its top up as that's the hard part.

An image itself is just a reproduction/representation and an interpretation of a subject. I think it's safe to say this is what the Beetle Convertible will generally look like.

I wish they'd do a softtail 2-seat roadster version.
