GM wants more ads on Facebook to get younger buyers for the Corvette
As sales of the Chevrolet Corvette are on a decline since its current version was presented in 2005, General Motors has been aggressively promoting the model to raise awareness. The Corvette, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in just two model years, is geared for the youth but it appears to have a shrinking and aging fan

How about the next generation? It's already one of the best selling sports cars. The only way you'll attract the facebook population is by pricing it at ~20-35k.

This is why I always say they need to get out from under the Chevy umbrella. Make Corvette a brand and offer an entry level car for younger buyers.

Isn't the Camaro an entry level car for younger buyers?

It is what it is, a unique high powered american sports car. Sales have dropped because of the competition, mainly imported, that offer a better poduct for the money. Chevrolet has never listened to the driver/owners and thought that they knew better. It is not a mass market car and should remain a "halo" with appropriate improvements.

Sales have dropped from the bad economy, there is NO other car with the same bang for the buck.

The Corvette actually has very high sales for a sports car with the 911 producing somewhat similar sales. Most other sports cars only have a couple of hundred sales a month. If you call the M3 competition than its sales could be comparable as well.

here is my take on the corvette and its problems. First anything built by gm i would never buy(done supporting uaw and their scams) but that is not the reason for this post and i do not consider it a problem for the vette only for me. so here are the real problems 1 the car is very very fast now thats not a problem for experienced drivers but for younger buyers they dont know how to handle it. think about it what is the biggest thing for a new driver. my opinion is how fast things happen and to process all that information. the first thing i did when i got my license was blow a red light cause i forgot i had to look for them. 2 the insurance for younger drivers is super expensive. 3 the interior is horrible younger drivers want gadgets . 4 the car feels cheap goes with the bad interior plastic this and fake that. 5 if you do have a vette you need another car for winter if your in the northeast anyway. 6 stigma that you are in a mid life crisis if you have one. im not bashing the vette the performance numbers are amazing but young drivers its not for. just imagine a vette with interior features like the audi handling like a M and the price of the base vette

If you don't like unions and do not want a union made car than your choice would be limited to only about 30% of the market.

The Corvette has the performance spec and price that Rival or beat most sport cars out there but it had that Old Man Mid life crisis image that is hurting it sales number. If they could some how change that image gradually it will attract younger buyers.

For every 10k likes 1 person will buy the car.
