This Race Takes GUMBALLS -- And MORE Than $40k To Enter

I remember watching Jackass years ago, when the show was becoming a hit, and seeing them participate in this crazy road rally known as "The Gumball." Soon I found out it was the Gumball 3000 rally.

At that time there were all sorts of crazy cars participating and it was the closest thing to straight up automotive pornography. I adored it.

Thanks to The Truth About Cars, they've compiled a nice set of videos showing a bit more of the culture of the Gumball. One of my personal favorites is of Alex Roy and Team Polizei receiving an escort out of -- I think -- Rome.

Well played, sir. Well played.

So, get out your checkbooks because next year's race is going from New York To Los Angeles. It's time to make moves.


If there ever was an antithesis to the 24 hours of LeMons, then it’s the annual Gumball 3000 rally, 3000 miles across Europe, from London to Istanbul, in the most outrageous and disgracefully expensive cars you can think of.

It started last Thursday, at the Covent Garden in London, with most of the over 100 participants still hung over from the pre-race-party at the Playboy Club. As you read this, the race has arrived in Monte Carlo, leaving untold amounts of speeding tickets in its wake. Speaking of tickets (and tons of pictures and videos)...
