Porsche Sales Leap By 50% In May
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, today announced May sales in the United States of 2,817 units compared to the same period last year when it sold 1,873, an increase of 50 percent.

May's results represent the German sports car maker's best May sales total in the United States since 2007. So far in 2011, the company's sales are 12,996 units. In the same five-month period last year, Porsche sales were 8,842, which represents a 47 percent increase.

For the month, Porsche's Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 753, compared to 796 last year. The year-to-date total was 3,596, compared to 3,220 last year.

Porsche only sold 197 Cayenne's last may? If it wasn't for last may's absolutely dismal Cayenne's sales, Porsche sales would have dropped 7%

That was before this new generation went on sale, dealers were probably just selling their remaining Cayenne stock at that point.

I see the Panamera all over Houston lately....I hadn't seen more than 1 or 2 since they went on sale but now it seems they are everywhere...

Glad to see for the year the Boxsterand Cayman sales have not fallen off a cliff.It is quite obvious that Panamera and Cayenne sales are still the bulk of Porsche's sales increases. This is actually no surprise here.
