Toyota may use the Celica name for the FT-86
Early next year, Toyota’s new FT-86 rear-drive coupe will start selling but it won’t have a single global identity since it’s likely to get a name change. For the U.S. market, it will be offered under Toyota’s Scion sub-brand. This means that it can be named Celica in Europe and Japan, says Autocar. According to a source, the “86” in the

They serious need to sale this car not just the U.S. but globally as the Toyota Celica and if they decided to sale under a different name and it doesn't sale well, then they need to fire the marketing team asap!!

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. Toyota has the money and technology to build one if they wanted to which I hope they will built one : )

I'm OK with bringing back the name. Maybe it would stimulate Honda to bring back the Integra, this time with RWD.

A car that is returning to RWD? That's moving forward in my book!

Well kinda lame that we are getting it as a Scion and not even a Toyota. Pretty sure there is going to be rebadging kits on the web from Japan as soon as that thing hits the ground. Not trying to be a badgewhore, I just really dont like Scion and think Toyota should do away with it entirely.

...dear god, who cares. Just friggin tell us what the engine is going to do for god sake. We have been waiting since 2010 to hear what the engine lineup was going to be.

I could care less if it has a big wing, small wing, no wing or bird wing. Just tell me what the thing that goes suck/squish/bang/blow will do. This is like the MR-S release from a decade ago ("wow that car looks cool", "cant wait to see its stats", "that thing will sell a million vehicles" ,"it will definatly raise the bar for the old MR2", "wait your putting what engine in it?". You had better not MR-S this car Toyota!

And for naming purposes..call it the "SupraAllTrackolla2"
