RUMOR: Is There Going To Be Yet Another, MORE Powerful Nissan GT-R?
If I didn't know any better I would say that Nissan can't get enough. At least when it comes to their GT-R and adding more power.

According to reports, there will be yet another version, a Spec R, that will receive a boost up to 560 horsepower and a weight reduction. Although it won't be significant weight savings, somewhere between 66 and 88 pounds, anything helps at this point.

...According to the people at 7tune the GT-R is to get a power boost. The output of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo is set to increase from 530 horsepower up to 560.

But even more interesting is that a Spec R version of the GT-R is said to be in the works. This model is set to succeed the current Spec V model and could be the final model of the current GT-R. This version will see a reduction of 30 ~ 40 kilograms in overall weight plus the addition of a gold engine cover to replace the current red version adorning the Spec V...

Funny comment!!! Why should Porsche be affraid??
The ones who should be afraid as Nissan should be, are the ones putting their money into a car who's previous version had transmission reliability issues, that by the way has never been Porsche's case.

SportyTurbo

Did you ever notice the 24hour race in no way represents the production car it stems from? Technology will trickle yes, but are not even close to the same car.

Why would porsche be afraid, this is a 2012 GTR and they always pit it against a porsche that is a year older. Ill judge when the new 911 comes out next year.

then you can compare the new 911 with the all new GTR of next year. Porsche has no idea what's coming.

@GTR35

hmmm...but then you can compare the all new 911 that is newer than the newer 911 not on sale yet...to the all new GTR that will be on sale after the new 2012 GTR.

I'd rather spend almost 5 times the price of a GT-R on the Slower Lexus LF-A.

I dont see why I get deboosted, I think neither you or me know what the next set of cars from either manufacturer will bring to the table, but since people on this thread dont want to bring up valid points and want to deboost as soon as they read the word porsche...well then this is pretty hopeless.

Why would anyone be surprised that the GTR will get more power - what it really needs is less weight - and one other thing. If I owned a GTR, I would only be able to use its performance on the street 10% of the time, but I have to look at its ugly exterior and interior 100% of the time. Minimally, it needs a good plastic and bariatric surgeon, but more than anything it needs a total redesign.

Takes an aerodynamics 101 course and you will understand why it looks that way.

I have to disagree with you on this post. I have seen many Nissan GT-R in California in person, I can tell you the Nissan GT-R definitely a very beautiful Super Exotic Car. And the rear lights is absolutely GORGEOUS at night.

FYI, Kermit The Frog isn't a looker either AKA Porsche 911 ; ) IMAO.........
