VIDEO: Autocar Drives The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe - Finally, Apples-To-Apples Against The BMW M3
Ah, yes. Here we go. This is what we've been waiting for.

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG has always been a lustworthy product. Armed with its 6.2-liter V8 motor, it has one of the most insane stock exhaust notes on the planet. It really is stunning. And this was before it introduced the coupe, probably something Mercedes-Benz should have done a long time ago.

This was a wise choice by Mercedes though, it had to of been in the plans a few years ago since they denied anyone an AMG E-Class Coupe.

Now we finally have an apples-to-apples comparison against the BMW M3. Two doors, two V8s and two awesome German machines.

Ready.Set.Go.

But what's the point if 100% of the people drive their daily commute cars on the track less than 5% of the time? So 95% of the time it's being used, the C63 is the better car. More importantly, people who are buying a C63 are not going to track it, that would be ridiculous. If you intend to track your car regularly, then for the same price, you'd get a Cayman S which handles better than either car at the track.

Quizz 1, blazinboy 0.

While blazinboy has a very good point, the reality is the only people who care about that are sitting around each other talking about how their car goes a tenth of a second faster than another.

The M3's a precision instrument while the C63 AMG is more of an entertainer, at the expense of precision and turning faster lap times.

At least the BMW doesn't look like the fastest Honda Accord Coupe ever.

How is it an apple to an apple when one car had more horse power and torque? And I have to agree with theoptimisticpessimist here that the new MB C63 AMG coupe look very similar to the Honda Accord Coupe.

@Lexus

They're two-door German coupes with 400 + hp V8s and near the same price point. Both are factory-tuned vehicles that are in the same respective class.

You don't get any more apple-to-apple than that. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any comparisons. Ever.

I'm not saying people are wrong in their saying the C-pillar of the Honda Accord and the C-couple are similar but honestly, how many people are going to mistaken the Accord for the C-Couple?

Wait until you park a C-Coupe next to the Accord coupe. The accord's porportions a very ungainly. The front over hang on the Accord is so long it just throws off the whole design.The rear fast back on the accord is too flat and long also. The people who say the Benz looks like the Accord would also make the comment that the Audi TT looks like the VW bettle.
