Do You Believe It? Obama Says Chrysler's Failure Would Have Taken The GM and Ford Down As Well
President Barack Obama talked of faith rewarded during his stop Friday at the Toledo Assembly Complex.
He said that if his administration would've let Chrysler fail in 2009, the country would've seen a "cascade of damage," impacting not only the company's employees, but suppliers, GM and Ford as well.

I don't believe it, and they don't believe it either. If Chrysler was that pivotal to keeping the auto industry alive, the government would have believed Chrysler, GM and Ford would have had the same chance of surviving. They always said Chrysler had the worst chances of failing so obviously this isn't true. This cascading damage effect is a horrible theory anyway. Let's say Chrysler went under for good. The suppliers supporting Chrysler would walk away with two options. Downsize and focus on their other contracts (downsizing generates revenue by selling off excess equipment), or if Chrysler was their only contract. They would shut down not effecting the other companies.

I have to agree. Chrysler was a very small weak company.GM, however, would have taken both Ford and Chrysler and forced foreign tranplant companies to shut down. That's where the scenario would have gone. It would have been a huge domino effect because so many companies, including the transplants depend on US supply companies. Take the reverse scenario as to the earthquake in Japan. It not only affected Japanese companies but US companies and some Euro companies as well. Now just imagine if all the Jap suppliers shut down for good. It would have created havok in the the auto industry.Point is all these companies that compet against each other for market share are interconnected by parts suppliers.

Honestly who cares? 009 searches the internet daily looking for anti Obama material. The Republicans effed up so bad that a black man became president. To this day all the crap ongoing in states like Wisconsin will give him another 4 years. Republicans need to stop it their agenda of destroying anything social and handing the rich this nation on a silver platter has doomed them.

This is what Obama was told to say by the puppet masters, and no, Ford and Chev. would have been just fine without Chrysler, actually even better, unless the Chrysler employees only drive chev and Fords, then with them un employed they couldn't buy any new fords or Chevs, lol
