I would personally focus on lighter materials over an engine that uses diesel and gas. It sounds too expensive and yield minimal improvements.

This engine is very underpowered, the economy is ok, will this engine need more expensive maintenance? And the number one question is what makes this underpowered engine any better than a straight diesel? The diesel is more powerful and has the same economy doesn't it?

That's cool to see some innovation coming from Chrysler/Fiat. I wonder however if this is paired with Multi-Air, and as already stated, what advantage this has over a conventional diesel engine. I'd imagine that diesel fuel would allow for a higher forced induction pressure, but the power output and displacement stated doesn't really match up to that guess.
