RENDERED SPECULATION: If The Audi R4 Looked Like THIS, Would You Be A Buyer?

Remember, it was only so long ago that we relayed information to you that Volkswagen Auto Group is working on a two-door drop top for its Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche brands. Well it appears that there has been some information let out about the Audi variant, the rumored R4.

According to reports, the R4 is supposed to be the car that ushers in a new era for Audi's sports car program. And assuming that Audi uses this vehicle to continue bringing in more elements from their lightweight program, it will definitely be a competitive beast.

Audi is working on a new and small supercar which will form a significant part of the company’s future sports car program. This new new mid-engined supercar will be named the R4. British magazine Autocar has unveiled some details about this upcoming sportscar.

The Audi R4 was previewed by the E-tron Spyder concept and will be share its platform with new entry-level Porsche and Volkswagen two-seaters. The production version of the R4 will share major elements of its front-end structure with the third-generation Porsche Boxster. The R4’s rear structure will be “radically different”, according to one Audi source...

I would buy this car without hesitation. This is a beautiful design and it doesn't look exactly like the R8. It looks like a cross between the R8 and the A5/S5 which isn't a bad thing at all.

I wish Audi would be so bold as to designing something that doesn't look exactly like the rest of the line-up. I

One can argue the same for the Boxster / Cayman, but seeing how they outshines the 911 in handling (and looks IMO), I'd say you were wrong.

It looks fine,but as 1dott8 said, I wish AUDI had the guts to create something totally different from the rest of the lineup.
