SPIED: Subaru's Toyota-Based RWD Coupe Finally Steps Out At The 'Ring
We've seen Toyota's take on the joint project with Subaru for quite some time now. In fact, we've seen three different versions of the performance machine while we have seen...ZERO from Subaru.

Actually, I lied. We did see the car's frame at one of the major auto shows.

Although details remain incredibly vague at this point, Autocar reports that the vehicle will have a low center of gravity and short overhangs. Considering Subaru is known for its awesome driving all-wheel drive products, it'll be interesting to see how a rear-wheel drive coupe does for the brand.

An even better question: does it have the chance to outdo the Toyota version?

...Subaru is promising that its version of the car will provide “a new level of driving excitement”. It has MacPherson strut front suspension, with double wishbones at the rear. It rides on 215/45 R17 tyres.

Subaru is remaining coy about the appearance of its coupé and the power output, but it's expected to have around 200bhp and potentially a limited-slip differential.

The car will go into production in early 2012...

Its sad. This could have been such a big project and now its getting thrown into a market that has tough competition with cars with proven reliability and big fan bases.

Everyone was hoping for this to be a cheap 370Z/Genesis Coupe...unfortunatly its turning out to be a RWD Civic. Which isn't so much a horrible thing...however it is kind of a let down considering what they had originally developed.

As long as TRD and STi put out either Supercharger or Turbocharger kits THAT ARE FACTORY/DEALER INSTALLED AND WONT VOID WARRANTY!!!! This car could do well.
