RUMOR: VWAG's Porsche AND Lamborghini To Team Up For Lambo SUV & Sedan

RUMOR: VWAG's Porsche AND Lamborghini To Team Up For Lambo SUV & Sedan
If rumors are to be believed then it appears that two performance manufacturers are going to team up to create a couple of serious beasts in the near future. The first being an all-new Porsche-based Lamborghini sport-utility vehicle, and the second would be a Lamborghini sedan.

While the Estoque received plenty of positive feedback, it seems that the raging bull has been calmed in the past 12 months -- in other words, we haven't heard anything about a production model.

On the other hand, we've heard a little bit about plans to bring back a Lambo SUV. While no details have hit the 'net -- we're not sure if it would be a hardcore off-roader or a tarmac-only performer -- it just came to light that Porsche is going to be involved. Well, why the hell not. Volkswagen Auto Group SHOULD use all of its resources to create the very best products.

It's not as though Lamborghini hasn't produced an SUV before.

Supercar giants join forces to develop storming new off-roader, next Porsche platforms to underpin both Lambo 4x4 and Estoque models

Two opposite ends of the sports car spectrum are about to join forces, Auto Express has discovered. Porsche is poised to collaborate with fellow Volkswagen Group firm Lamborghini to help the Italian manufacturer build an SUV
– even though the two brands are wildly different...

I think the amount is approximately 3% of all drivers actually take their SUV's off road. I would assume the Lamob SUV will have a V10 engine. Should get around 10 MPG.

This has been around for a long time and nothing too new, this used to compete with the Hummer way back, this would be off road worthy, check out the size of the tires, although it has independent suspension, something not deemed as worthy for serious off roading, and this includes the Hummer for lacking wheel travel, I have stories of an H-1 rolling trying to follow lifted tippy Toyotas off road, the H-1 rolled on the side hill because it lacked suspension travel, probably like this, although this would be fast in the Baja if it had lots of wheel travel and race shocks, I must admit that this suv does not excite me at all, Lambos have a bad rap for reliability, and the cost of buying it would be through the ceiling, gas mileage would also be very bad.

Aside from Land Rover I don't think any one else sells so many expensive SUVs as Porsche has recently with the new Cayenne, the Escalade does a little better in the states but certainly not worldwide. Panamera has sold quite well also saw 4 or 5 today, monthly sales are somewhat lower than the German flagship competition but I am sure Porsche is happy.
