Reports Say BMW Has A LOT Of Plans For The Next-Gen 1-Series
It wasn't too long ago that we got our first look at the 2012 BMW 1-Series. But if you thought BMW only had a three-door and five-door in the blueprints, you thought wrong.

That's because BMW has plans for SIX different products surrounding the entry-level 1'er. That's right, count 'em, six!

First you can expect the hatches, as we previously mentioned, then come:

3) a coupe
4) a cabriolet
5) a Gran Turismo crossover
6) an estate

Following this, Autocar writes that the 1-Series will go front-wheel drive.

With that said, are any Spies willing to suggest which model will flop and which will be a success?

The second-generation BMW 1-series will eventually evolve into six different body variants on two distinctly different platforms.

This variety will broaden the line-up against increased competition from the third-generation Audi A3, new Mercedes-Benz A-class and the Mk7 Volkswagen Golf — all due out next year.

Of most significance are two new front-wheel-drive models — a GT crossover and a small estate — due in 2014. They will pave the way for the third-generation 1-series range in 2018, which will see the bulk of body styles switching to a front-wheel drive set-up...

Head lights aside. The curves on the hood and side look amazing. After looking at this then looking at a car like the A7 it makes the A7 look dated. The new 1 combines super smooth curves with some nice lines beautifully.
