The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle To Launch With Special, Black Turbo Edition

The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle To Launch With Special, Black Turbo Edition
Now that Volkswagen has given the New Beetle a shot of life with an extensive overhauling, it's time to get this product out and into the marketplace.

To commemorate the occasion, VW has decided that it would launch a special, blacked-out Turbo Beetle first. Only 600 are going to be built and it will feature some exclusive options like: red calipers, 18-inch wheels, rear spoiler, upgraded sound system and iPod connectivity.

I guess this is VW's way of putting the Beetle in a tuxedo and having its very own cotillion party, or something of the sort.

The new 2012 Beetle isn’t scheduled to arrive in U.S. dealerships before the beginning of September, but Volkswagen is attempting to draw attention to its new Vehicle Pre-Order (VPO) program with the launch of a limited run version of the latest Bug called the Black Turbo Edition...

...Only 600 examples will be built, all finished in an exclusive black pearl paint with gray Turbo decals on the side. Other standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, beefed up brakes with red calipers, a “kaeferfach” additional glovebox that is similar to that of the original Beetle, sport cloth seating surfaces, foglights, and alloy pedals. Bluetooth technology, iPod connectivity, three-color ambient lighting and an RCD 310 sound system with eight speakers are also offered as standard.

Pricing for the 2012 Beetle Black Turbo Edition is set at $24,950 plus a $770 delivery charge...

I thought the old beetle was bad, but the rear on the new beetle is a mess.

VW = Boredom redefined. Does VW actually build a car that isn’t a boring appliance? Not counting the beetle which is still an appliance but a decent argument can be made otherwise.

VW's are far more involving and fun to drive then any other cars in its class from the big 3 from America and Japan. You obviously have not driven one. Drive a Camry or malibu and then drive a passat and the difference is night and day.

Will do. I had a V6 Camry loaner car and it was the worse car i've ever driven.

Volkswagen New Beetle is a small family car, introduced by Volkswagen drawing heavy inspiration from the exterior design of the original Beetle.
