Next Year's 24 Hours Of Le Mans To Get GREEN With GreenGT
Although the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans just ended, it seems that people are gearing up for next year's event right away!

According to Autocar, the ACO has invited GreenGT to next year's event. Why is this important? That's because the team is planning to race a vehicle that has hydrogen fuel cells, which produce electricity that powers an electric motor.

This method is good for 402 horsepower and is said to be a fully carbon neutral way of competing.

Could this be the start of a revolution? Who knows, we'll have to way nearly a year and 24 hours to figure out...

The Automobile Club de L'Ouest (ACO) has invited GreenGT to race its GreenGT LMP H2 in next year’s Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race.

Hydrogen fuel cells produce electricity to power an electric motor with 134bhp, although the power will be increased to 402bhp in 2012 when the racer begins competing...

now imagine the spectacle of this thing crashing like those Audi's but with a super high pressure hydrogen tank aboard.

This is one is on the reserve list behind the Delta Wing. this and the fully electric racer are on the reserve because they are unlikely to run a competative time at Le Mans, essentially just getting in the way.

Just saw a video of the prototype doing an actual lap at Le Mans, pretty cool that it can do an actual lap at le mans but it is over a minute slower than the slowest GT cars so that won't cut it. It would be nice to see it racing there next year if they gain a lot of speed in development.
