looks great, although a small detail - the lower front air dam looks strange, as if it hit the curb and chipped a tooth...lovely rims though...

Love at first sight! I was skeptical of the M5 concepts; however, I am certain of the MC production model. I cannot wait to see and hear it on the road.

More specs released in press release.

Average fuel consumption is 28.5 Mpg.
Power to weight is 7lb per Hp.
7*560=3920lb

0-1000m (0 to one km) =21.9 seconds.

For comparison
Lexus LF-A =21.3
Audi R8 V10 = 22.2

Painted Brake Calipers? About freaking time BMW. Sans the 1-series, BMW brakes looked about as crude as Toyota Camry brakes.

As for that M5? It looks like a regular 5-series. Which means that it looks a little dull. I was expecting more excitement.

absolutely love it. like the rest of the 5s, it will look even better in person. very clean design, aggressive, yet not overdone like so many cars of this class.

When BMW puts in too many swoops and curves, everyone calls it an overdone design. Now, that it is classy and understated, some will call it dull and boring. Of course, you cannot please everyone at the same time.
I am absolutely in love with this car, I also want to know if the 4WD option will be offered which is a must in the North-East =)

Was expecting 600hp as well considering now quite old RS6 makes 572hp. But still overall it is a great package. BTW would like to see how much faster it is than the X6M which i drove recently. Great job BMW.

so you're 'horribly disappointed that it's not 30hp more. but it's 'not all about hp.' and you're happy with the 394hp in your e39 but unhappy with 560hp in the f10. those are called contradictions.

"Why would an IS be compared to a mid-sized sedan when it competes directly with the 3-series?"

Will what ever the hell Lexus has that will lose to this Bimmer. So come Lexus GS, LS whatever bring it!!!! BMW is ready tackle!!! WHEN it comes to BMW I'm all over it!!!

Well done. And the stated horsepower is at the rear wheels, so look at the driveline loss and there is your crank horsepower. The color is cool but the calipers, those are a great touch and, oh, I dont't know, about ten years late!!! About time BMW AG. And the tuners are going to easily get this thing to around 640-hp abd some will try to get to the 700-hp number to entice clients. Heavily detuned from the factory like the E70 X5 M & E71 X6 M. Can't wait.

560 HP is great, specialy If you consider the torque....that car is gona be fun and I am want to see it against me favorite (E63)..lets the war begins again....I love German cars....The next year Audi and Cadillac will bring new models...2012 will be a great year for car fans.

Exactly. The last one at least had a high-revving V10, while this one is only about number economically produced to matches MB or Audi.

Although w/ 60hp more, I doubt it can keep up w/ Panamera Turbo.

the panamera turbo had better be faster. it's stunning. and it costs $50,000 more.

"The precise interplay of the drive system, chassis and design has been refined in extensive and detailed testing on the Nordschleife circuit at the Nürburgring, to ensure unbeatable longitudinal and lateral acceleration, handling characteristics and braking performance."

it's not electronic, it's hydraulic. completely different system than other 5s--which have lost the steering feel of earlier 5s (though still better than the competition).

BMW is in the right path, the previous engines were screeming fighters...but this is a real monster do does not need to scream to make you feel scary. There is no way to compare this new engine with the previous V10, (which was other weak in torque) but this new engine will be a a real nightmare for the AMG and AUDI engineers. I love MB but I always though that the BMW engines were weak. That era is gone. This new engine is 60 HP better and almost twice of the torque. I bet , this will be as good or even better than the E63 in the autobhan a real Bullet Train with capability to bend the inertia a take the turns as a Typhoon.

I will reserve my opinion until I see some road tests and comparisons. The older M5 was the only Bimmer I truely liked, hopefully this one will recapture some of the magic. I can't wait until it dukes out the current and updated V, RS, R, and AMG models.

The interior is typical BMW though.

Why would the interior not be typical BMW?
Were you expecting some weird extreme psychedelic type sh*t?
