VW Beetle R to make its first appearance at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show: Report

Volkswagen has recently made an announcement stating that it’s getting prepared to debut its new vehicle – Volkswagen Beetle R at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to the sources who have confirmed this model, Beetle R will get a 2.0 liter engine from its brother Golf R that produces 270 horsepower.

Beetle R? LOL!! What next? A jetta R. What happened to going downscale? VW is about as confused as Audi when it comes to product placement.

HAHA...it looks like an old Porsche. Someone has to take that car, put the engine in the back and make it RWD...and you have a new Porsche 928...the poor man's Porsche is back.

Huh?
I think you meant 356. Since when was the 928 a poor man's Porsche, or for that matter the 356 over the long run?
Closest thing resembling this would be a 912, IMO.

I'm mistaken, you are right. I did mean the 912 for looks, and the 356 for cheap model.
