Edmunds Preview the new TT

Edmunds previews the next generation Audi TT set to arrive in America in early 2007. Interesting tidbit, the new car that uses aluminum extensively to lower weight is 15 seconds faster around the Nürburgring than the one it replaces. The new TT is a much more sport oriented than the last one, but does it have what it takes to take on the Porsche Cayman or BMW Z4 coupe?

The Audi TT is much faster than it's predecessor. I'm predicting the BMW Z4 Coupe will win the shoot-out between the three.

The TTRS will sure challenge the Z4M and the Cayman. If the 3.2 Quattro TT can take 15 seconds off its Nurburgring time and also manage to be labeled a true sports car then I think a TT packing 350 horsepower should absolutely fly.

From the side those front lights looks like the ones from the Accord. But eitherway it is a very nice car. Much improvement. We'll see how it performs.

way better than the old one, i love it. i really like the interior too (well it is an audi). 0-62 5.7 seconds for the 3.2, imagine what the ttrs will do!

Probably even better, the much heavier Audi A3 3.2 already doe the 0-60 in 5.8. Here is the proof:

I think that a time of 5.5 0-60 is definately possible for the new TT 3.2.

Rupert, I know, Audi usually underrates their times a bit, and the tiems are for 0-62, not 0-60.
